1. Do not eat or drink for at least one hour prior to the test.
2. Do not chew gum or suck on candy for at least one hour prior to the test.
3. Must not have taken an antibiotic for at least 2 weeks prior to the test.
4. Stop proton pump inhibitors (i.e. Aciphex, Kapidex, Nexium, Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, Protonix, Prevacid, Zegerid) at least 4 weeks prior to the test.
